The device G1 was said to be the most awaited product to be launched of the year.
The G1 model had a flip open type of QWERTY keyboard. A 528 Mhz QualComm processor powers the G1 with 256 MB ROM and 192 MB RAM. The web browsing experience is the main feature of this handheld. Depending on the type of network and area, the device supports up to 7.2 mbps download speed with its built in GSM/GPRS system. The device also features Wi-Fi b/g connectivity paired with Bluetooth 2.0 and a built in GPS system with a digital compass to map the exact position and find path.
The 320×480 touchscreen is provided with a trackball for easy access to all the functions. This sleek model by HTC uses a capacitive panel, complementing the screen which responds to even gentle touches. The interface is efficient and quick. The browser is highly integrated with Google services like its search engine. The mobile has a 3.2 MP auto focus camera and a microSD slot with up to 16 GB expandable memory. Overall, its a start of a new Android generation promising much in the future. It is priced at $200.
